The Modern Mystery School is a global community of leaders, decision-makers, and visionaries dedicated to creating world peace. It offers advanced spiritual teachings and metaphysical instruction on the tools and techniques passed down through an oral tradition, from teacher to student, since ancient times.


The MMS has a documented, unbroken lineage of over 3,000 years, tracing back to King Solomon the Wise. The school administers this lineage, a comprehensive and timeless path of ancient mystery teachings and initiations to master the art and science of transformation—for personal empowerment and service to others.


This lineage was passed down from teacher to student and, for the past 3,000 years, was open only by invitation. Founder Gudni Gudnason opened the doors of the Modern Mystery School to a wider public in 1997, and the school has since expanded, establishing headquarters in Toronto and Tokyo, with regional centers in Brazil, Europe, Israel, South Africa, and the United States, and welcoming initiates in over 50 countries.

The line of King Solomon the Wise

King Solomon is a central figure in the Book of Kings in the Bible. He was a radical thinker of his time who initiated the first worldwide gathering of spiritual guides and healers and introduced a universal system of enlightenment for all people, regardless of origin, gender, or belief system. This sowed the seeds for the astonishing potential we see in the world around us today. Initiates of this system, including Leonardo da Vinci, Sir Isaac Newton, Carl Jung, and David Bowie, have worked in large and small ways, publicly and behind the scenes, to ensure that humanity can flourish and achieve world peace.

The MMS is a global network of people who contribute to peace on Earth through their work. At MMS international programs and events, people come together to deepen their own and their communities' healing and wholeness, to strengthen one another, and to learn more about mastering the self. Every interested student is invited to join this path of self-discovery and spiritual progress. The MMS does not show the way, but rather reminds people how to find their own path.

Why is the line so important?

The teachings of the lineage of King Solomon empower us to learn with heart and soul, not with the mind. They cannot be conveyed through books, videos, podcasts, or apps, but are transmitted orally from teacher to student. They are based on giving the student permanent energetic keys that unlock doors within them to experience their own truth. This can only be transmitted in person.

All true spiritual paths will at some point require leaps of faith into the unknown. But within the lineage of King Solomon, we can at least see who has gone before us, where the path leads, and know the fruits of those journeys. The keys you receive are profound spiritual experiences and progress in your daily life—not "peak experiences" from which you return home wondering how to integrate them. LOCAL ASSOCIATION OF CERTIFIED LIGHT CENTERS
The MMS trains and certifies a worldwide network of independent "Light Centers" where the lineage receives new members through initiation. These centers offer a variety of spiritual courses, healing sessions, and activations. The international headquarters is located in Tokyo, where the founder and lineage holder, Gudni Gudnason, lives with his wife, Eiko. Toronto is the North American headquarters of the MMS, and here the region's healers, guides, and ritual masters receive annual certification and advanced training.

The management of the "Modern Mystery School"

The influence of the Modern Mystery School has grown immensely since 1997, as more and more people awaken to the fact that there is more to life than worldly things and choose personal empowerment and social change. For over a decade, the founder, Gudni Gudnasson, trained two other lineage holders, Ipsissimus Dave Lanyon and Ipsissimus Hideto Nakagome, to create a new form of leadership known as "the Third Order" (Ipsissimus being an esoteric title). Together with the "Council of 12 Women," the Third Order leads the Modern Mystery School worldwide.

Ipsissimus Dave THOR Lanyon is the driving force behind the rapid growth of the Mystery School. Since joining the lineage in 2004, the school has expanded from 12 to 55 countries through his efforts. Dave has dedicated his life to serving the world by teaching, healing, and helping people from all walks of life to achieve self-realization. He is an expert at identifying what is blocking a person and guiding them to higher frequencies and deeper understanding.

Gudni Gudnason

Born Gudni Halldor Gudnason of Thoroddsen in northern Iceland, the "Viking lands," he is a direct descendant of the war god Thor from the "Eagle Vale Clan" in western Iceland, where Yggdrasil is located and where Odin hung on the tree for nine days and nights. Initiated into the line of King Solomon in the early 1970s, endowed with the priesthood authority of the High Priest Melchizedek, he was initiated into the secrets of the Great Pyramid of Giza in a nighttime ceremony. Guardian of the Grail secret, initiated Celtic medicine man, Viking shaman, Druid priest, Templar knight, and Egyptian High Priest of Isis, he is authorized to carry out the work of the Hierarchy of Light in every way, with the highest powers bestowed upon a human being.

Ipsissimus Hideto REI Nakagome has been instrumental in the growth of the Mystery School since joining the lineage in 2000. He immediately recognized the urgency of establishing world peace and wanted to support this endeavor directly. Since then, he has worked passionately towards it.
